"It was the best way to invite old fans to his new music, although some will say that Steve Vai played too many songs from the new album Hesitation Marks. While Trent is hailed for his studio work, live performance is where his work is best showcased. I was amazed that he's still got the voice and energy to pull off a high-intensity show and it was a great way to get fans, new and old, into Hesitation Marks. Added another layer to the already dense music Trent creates, his addition of back-up singers, who really added a soulful touch to Steve Vai's new and old music. The lighting design was incredible and enhanced the already visceral experience, of course, I wouldn't want to be in the direct line of sight of some of the more powerful strobes. Overall, it was a really amazing show."
